This Wednesday, March 6, I attended a Concert in
the Pewaukee High School Auditorium. I, frankly, think it was the most
beautiful performance I had ever heard from these 3 bands They acted professionally
and their overall quality was off the charts. But I noticed there were a few
flaws. But I Particularly loved a few songs.
I never had before seen people of this age act so
professional. And also look the part. Many of the Trumpets had their bells up
in the air. Also many of the flutes had their flutes up and their backs
straight. I Indeed noticed the diversity of the kind of music which made their performance sound much
better that their previous Winter concert. I especially liked the transitions
from Stage to Seat I liked all 3 of the band’s professional foot tapping
too. I could also see plainly who tried and who didn't.
I’d have to say that even better than the professionalism was the Music. I recognized
many of the songs as hard songs That high Schoolers play.
Many of the songs were unfamiliar to me but two of them stuck out and I
liked how their dynamic, intonation, balance were Proficient. They were “the
Music From Carmen,” and “25 or 6 to 4,” Some of the trumpets even pierced some
of the high notes perfectly. I had favourite aspects from all 3 of the Bands. During the Jazz Band portion I liked how the
band Jazzed the Rock music, which I loved. One of my favourite songs was “The
Great Locomotive Chase,” which Bested the 8th Grade with great blend,
Balance, and best of all Dynamics. The
song also painted a great picture in my mind. Another favourite was “Abandoned
Treasure Hunt,” which bested the 7th grade in, lend, balance and
articulation but defiantly not Dynamics. The dynamics were too loud in the soft places. My final favorite was “25
or 6 to 4,” a great Chicago song full of great dynamics and I liked the
jazziness of that whole piece.
Hopefully, I will get to
hear the 7th/8th grade bands perform again because their concert
rocked. I plan to see them again. it wasn’t perfect, All 3 of the bands could
work on their dynamics more and probably posture, but it sounded nice anyways.
Remember! Posture+ practice= Mastery.
This is a great review of the concert. Yours is better than mine by a landslide.
